From its earliest days of existence, MIT has relied upon the annual generosity of its alumni and friends to build and maintain a level of excellence in all its endeavors. Such outstanding generosity will allow MIT to carry on its core mission of advancing knowledge and educating students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century.

Results from academic year 2006-2007:

21,039 undergraduate alumni donors
12,293 graduate alumni donors

Together with parents and friends, 33,332 alumni donors gave a total of $41,993,372 in support of MIT last year.

So, where does all this money go?

16%     Undergraduate Education and Student Life
13%     Scholarships and Undergraduate Aid
5%       Graduate Fellowships
2%       Other Uses
