Financed by the BMZ (Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung), together with the Bureau National d'Etudes Techniques et de Développement, and the Urban Management Programme.

Site of the Regional Network of Local Authorities for the Management of Human Settlements, focused on the Asia-Pacific region. Home based in Yokohama. Limited site with occasional publications of interest.

Building and Social Housing Foundation
The Foundation (BSHF) is a research institute based in Coalville, Leicestershire in the United Kingdom. A major area of activity is the annual World Habitat Award competition which it organises and sponsors. They were initiated in 1985 to identify innovative and successful human settlement projects throughout the world which could be replicated elsewhere. Each year two cash awards of £10,000 and a trophy is presented to the winners of the competition on World Habitat Day. The web site provides a description of past winners.
