1999 New England Regionals Results

Two beautiful days of frisbee in Groton, MA. We were in a pool with Tufts, Smith, Wellesley, Wesleyan & Brown B. In the first game, Wellesley was late, we assessed 3 points, & they showed up & won the first point of game time playing with 4. Although everyone was suffering from first-game-of-the-day syndrome, there was nice playing by all, with an end score of 13-5. Our next game was against Smith. This was a tough game, and both teams played with a lot of guts & spirit. Final score: MIT 12, Smith 10. After that, we played Wesleyan, winning 13-4. The day wound down with a final battle against our Boston buddies, Tufts. Sadly, we lost 13-11.

Sunday morning started with a surprise upset of Smith over Tufts 12-6. This put Tufts against Brown in the double elimination, while we played Middlebury. We beat Middlebury 13-6, and Brown beat a demoralized Tufts 13-2. In our final game, we lost to Brown 13-12, losing a lead of 11-6 as our person offense took a stunning swan-dive. At the same time, Yale beat Smith 15-5 in the finals, and then Brown beat Smith 15-9 in the game to go.

Back home. We licked our wounds. We fell into a frenzy of impassioned thesis writing (at least, some fraction of us). We passed an ordinance that every current member of the team must find one new member for next year. We started the STRANGE ATTRACTORS. And we pooled our money to set bail for Jessica, after she did that terrible thing of which we all secretly approved.
