Location: Kelsey Fields-Rugby pitch (middle field)

SCORE:
Colby-Sawyer College Women: 17
MIT Women: 57

Very inexperienced CSC was pushed around in the first half and MIT exploited their slow reaction on both open play and particularly on penalties awarded to the opposition.

MIT Women: 5
Bates College Women: 5

Cool, sunny fall day. Perfect for rugby. The field was in perfect shape with new grass and sod laid down recently. Both teams kept things tight and close between with most of the first half play falling between the 22m lines. MIT made the most of one of their plays close to the Bates line by scoring an unconverted try on the 37th minute.

The second half was more of the same but with a little more open play. Both teams making breaks, but each team's defense held up until with seven minutes remaining Bates took advantage of play off a line-out to score an unconverted try.

With the game winding down, MIT pressed for the winning score but the Bates defense help up and the game ended in a tie. Credit to both teams and captains for an enjoyable afternoon of rugby.

SCORE:
MIT Women: 26
Middlebury College Women: 15

A windy day on MIT's well-marked pitch. MIT started the scoring when their wing used a burst of pace to round the defense and sprint down the sidelines with the wind at her back for a try. MIT also made good use of their #9 who made a series of darting runs off rucks whenever a gap appeared. In all, MIT had a bit more pace and was more effective in rucks and tackles. Middlebury outscored MIT in the second half 10 - 6, making good use of bruising runs from their #3. A few too many penalties and a few too many injuries kept Middlebury from catching up completely. A fun match played in good spirits.
