Neville gets a note from one of his Golden Circle sources asking for assistance. They were investigating Amber, and discovered massive fortifications around Amber city, and the heads of two looters from their kingdom on stakes. Neville advises them to stay away from Amber for the time being.
Our Benedict is closeted with Silver Lyra, discussing old Warriors' Guild business.
Neville asks after the state of Faerie. He is given Titania's name as a referent, and Corwin and Cassandra as pointers to her. He doesn't know anything about Faerie, but knows that the Ambassadors' Guild is good at preparing people for visiting foreign realms.
Neville's reality machine indicates four places that are beyond it's control: a place in the sky over Arden, a place in the basement of Castle Amber, a place outside House Jesby, and a place in Random's embassy in Chaos.
Cailin trumps Tate. They chat; Cailin pushes his duct-taped mage through and follows. Princess Chandra notices him trumping out and looks surprised. Cailin turns pale.
Random is yodeling, naked, on the roof of his house. Cailin fills him in. Random is proud of Cailin for pissing off the Head of the Assassins' Guild, leaving a trace to his house, and then going onto the lam. He then straps himself into a hang glider, still naked, and steps off the roof.
Neville is summoned by his House head and is told that a member of the Warriors' Guild is out front crying challenge. Neville takes out his big knife and goes out to talk. The warrior says that his house as a whole did not hold up its end of the bargain during the most recent attack on Amber, and that he was told to leave his sword at home. Neville tries to blame the agreement on the old heads of house that have already been punished. They decide to negotiate to work out the details. Neville tries to talk to Benedict directly, but is brushed off. The "it was supposed to be a cake walk" is mentioned, as well as the fact that Helgram and Hendrake started the war.
A discussion ensues about the Warriors' Guild's lack of negotiators.
Neville - "What exactly do you want from us?"
Warrior - "I don't know."
They decide to resume negotiations in a few turnings, after Neville has done some research.
On his way out, the warriors' guild rep points out to Neville "that kid over there talking about forks."

Neville brings it to Helgram's attention. Helgram tells Neville to see what Hendrake is doing about it, on the grounds that getting Snarsht mad at them would be a bad idea.
The duct-tape removal spell works. The skin that grows back beneath the taoe is plaid due the conditions in the local shadow.
Corwin is unavailable because he is with Titania.
Raven is outside House Barimen. Several Jeans are outside House Barimen. The Ilk at House Cara has a few tendrils in the area. Caine walks out of House Barimen, with his arm around a beautiful woman. He turns to Raven and says, "Your turn."
"Any words of advise?"
"Nah, not really. You don't even have to duck a lot."
Raven shrugs and walks in.
Caine is pointing out terrain features to the woman and telling a good story.
Raven comes out a very short time later. "Umm... they say that they want to surrender unconditionally."
"Why did they surrender to you? Why do they always surrender to you? Why do they never surrender to me?"
Jean chimes in. "Maybe you should leave them alive a bit longer."
Raven asks Caine what terms he wants to give them.
"It's mine, it's always been mine, and any parts that I don't want, I'll throw back."
"Umm... those are your standard terms. What are your terms for the house."
"A house? Why would I want a house? It can't float."
Jean - "It might."
"I want an ocean here, now, then we'll talk again."
Raven enters the house and then returns. "They wanted to know what you wanted in the ocean. I told them water, but they didn't believe me."
Caine instructs Raven to keep the lady amused and goes back inside.
In a little while, the ground that Jean is standing on is getting squishy. Raven speaks a power word and a punt appears. He hands the lady into the boat and climbs in after her.
Ilk tells Savior of Chaos tells Shiryu about Barimen's ocean. Shiryu hops off Princess Chandra's lintel and is in front of Barimen. He looks at the ground, and it is ground, and Jean is sure that it always was ground. The Savior of Chaos feels one of his tendrils being pulled in an odd fashion, is pulled through one of his own tendrils, and is outside House Barimen. Shiryu instructs Ilk to keep them from tampering with what is not theirs, and returns to his lintel.
[Note - Shiryu just snapped the mind of the person making the ocean]
Jean comments that it might be easier to move the house to where it would float.
Semantic discussions occur about parties, rain, parades, and depression, and Jean suggests placing bells on Barimen.
Caine walks back into the House. There is an anguished scream, and Caine walks back out.
"They rejected my offer, so I've rejected their offer." Caine turns towards Ilk. "You mentioned a party?"
Caine and Ilk head to House Cara.
A member of the etiquette guild walks up to House Barimen and unrolls a scroll. He declares that since the time they had to respond was past... any six heroes of their choice would be allowed to respond to the Assassins' Guild... Additionally, the honor of House Moonlight is now involved, and the standing of House Barimen will be effected...
A member of the Warriors' Guild approaches House Barimen and says that as a member of a guild he is constrained from attacking an entire House. Each member of the Warriors' guild takes personal offense at this... The guild as a whole takes no notice of the difficulty. In short, they are on the shit lists of every individual member of the guild, and they cannot bring it up as politics.
One of the Sidhe warriors show up at House Barimen. Nobody can hear it saying anything.
Cailin tries to gate to yeti-land, but doesn't have enough power. It must be really far away.
Tate and Cailin discuss returning to the Assassins' Guild.
