Suhuy is checking out the shadows interconnected to the tower. There's nothing terribly suspicious there. It is often very hard to find the tower side of the window on the way back in. Suhuy passes his findings to Princess Chandra and the other Realms Lords.
Jean has successfully eradicated all of the rabbits from one of the shadows in which he is.
Calla asks Jean for a lift to Neville. Jean can't currently see Neville. Jean takes her to Amber instead.
Neville is going through his father's notes. They're incomplete and cryptic. Eric takes credit for a lot, including some things that Neville is pretty sure he didn't do.
Jean can tell that the moon is dripping. Blood is pooling, dripping down the outside of the dome, and blocking some of the stars.
Dworkin doesn't know what to do, but suggests that someone go take a look at the moon. He suggests cats, or maybe ducks.
Dworkin tells Jean about Gerard's hole in the sky. Jean pushes a homoculus through the hole, then wonders why he is hovering next to the hole. He shifts a saucer into a homoculus, and goes through the hole. He's next to the hole, but isn't sure why. Jean suggests to Dworkin that he could go through the hole. "Haven't you already done that?" Jean suggests to Dworkin that he could go through the hole. Dworkin tells Jean to move away from the hole.
Hamster Gerard trumps Neville and tells him that blood is running down the outside of the dome. Neville is told the story about Tir being restored at an angle.
Jean looks through the hole. Jean notices, as if for the first time, that the moon is red.
Jean eventually holds a minion up to look through the hole. The minion's head melts back into primal chaos. Jean tells Dworkin.
People speculate.
Jean asks Ilk to take a look at the hole in the sky. The Serpent's apprentice is sent to Amber.
Ilk checks out the hole. The dome is very thick and ordered, and there's a thin stream of primal chaos eddying across the sky that terminates near the rift in the sky over Arden. Ilk acquires Pattern Suhuy and his apprentice to provide a safety rope to help him find his way out.
Neville has Hamster Gerard pull him through to Amber. Calla confesses that she is supposed to be watching Neville on Caine's behest.
Ilk goes through the hole in the dome and checks out the other side. There seems to be a pressure wave built up in the primal chaos that is pressing on the dome. Ilk can't detect the moon or the blood, and speculates that they must be embedded inside the material of the dome.
Ilk feels a tug of Logrus emanating from the garden and drifts down to check it out. It's Darkstar. Darkstar and Ilk chat about the qualifications for being an Old Lord. Ilk denies the rumors. Darkstar considers himself to have been threatened.
Jean whales Neville and Calla to the promontory with the reality engine. Neville doesn't have contact with the engine. They head downstairs. Something jumps out at them hissing, and Calla fights for Neville's life. She succeeds. It happens faster than Neville can see, and neither of them are sure what it was.
They continue down. Calla holds up her hand; they hear some guys talking. Jean thinks that they have fairly big brains -- they'd be difficult to mind-wipe.
Neville and Calla decide to rush the guards, and Neville pulls one of his Morgantis. Calla comments on the sword being noisy. Neville shushes it. They take down the guards. The guards are wearing Julian's colors.
Cailin briefs his next batch of wizards. He establishes a beachhead and starts shuttling mages to Toram's lands. The invasion begins. Cailin's mages aren't doing very well. Cailin goes in and tries to bind their wings. They break the bindings fairly quickly, and are speaking in Thari.
He tries talking to the dragons. "Why are you guarding this place?"
"It is our task... assigned to us by he who freed us."
Cailin negotiates with the dragons. He agrees to try to bring them the person who blew up a pyramid; they show him an image of Caine. Cailin and his troops return to the magic tracking shadow. It seems to have changed - the clouds are gathering menacingly.
Cailin tries to drain one of the clouds, and fails.
The survivors return to the mages guild.
