Verra has finished her presentation to Neville's court. Neville was asked about his coronation. The Unicorn's priest has refused to officiate at Neville's coronation, and Neville asked Verra if he could borrow Jean to officiate.
Marial has finished defeating Julian's army.
Samantha turns to Jean and asks him to ask Cailin when the other cities are going to show up.
Julian spent quite some time attacking Misunderstood Benedict, who ignored it. About five minutes after the attacks stop, Benedict asks Julian if he's done. Julian pushes everything that he has into it, and fails. Benedict asks again if he's done, and a third attack happens and is ignored.
Misunderstood Benedict asks Julian if he is ready to start dismantling his army. Julian grabs a bibliomantic token out of his desk and tries to token out. Hamster Dworkin swipes the token, smacks Julian, and places the token back in the drawer. Julian attempts suicide, and is once again stopped by Hamster Dorkin.
Dworkinetics continues.
Zorro turns to Don Serioli and states that he can no longer hear that which they are following. He tells Don Serioli to stay here with the horses, and disappears.
A dirty hunchback wanders past. Cailin raises magic sight. Lots of magic here, all functioning, and there's a power source inside the castle.
Ilk notices that somewhere in reality, Suhuy is calling him. The Ilk who has been pretending to be Suhuy shows up. Suhuy is done fixing and weed-whacking the Logrus, including de-tainting it.
Ilk and Suhuy chat at some length, mostly about cosmology. Ilk fills Suhuy in on recent events. Suhuy takes the bottle with Ferro with him when he leaves.
Four or five waves ago, there was a spawning of many Wyrms. Suhuy believes that the current Serpent here is one of them, but he didn't experience that -- it was told to him. The spawning of similar siblings explains why there are so many similar pieces - Suhuy's not sure if it was purposeful or accidental, if the wyrm was segmented or gave birth.
Jean fishes the real Suhuy to Dworkin, who tries to talk Suhuy into helping.
Cailin sneaks past the hunchback towards the castle.
Cailin conjures a Sauron Jean. Jean is hungry, so Cailin conjures a hobbit generator. The hobbits taste much better than the ones from the other generators... and Jean and Calin both realize that Bronelle helped make those generators. People worry for a while. Jean tells Ilk in the tree.
Cailin, Hubert, Beldin, and Saruman head into shadow in search of a good restaurant in shadow.
Cailin tells Jean tells Verra that her advice may be needed at some point regarding a drawer full of possibly Morganti socks.
The restaurant's cloakroom has a sign stating that Bucephalus was here. It looks like a stable, and only has one door, leading into the restaurant.
Cailin leaves the restaurant and experiments with magic to try to detect any outside influences on his magic. Various spells are cast with his signature and without his consent. He can't determine whether or not he is contaminated, but the disruptions are rather clear.
There is a rumbling sound from downstairs. Princess Chandra runs up the stairs. She has Dworkin tucked under one arm, Pattern-Suhuy slung over one shoulder, and non-Pattern-Suhuy over the other shoulder. She drops those three off with Jean, and says that she needs to head downstairs to deal with something. She heads back downstairs with Erica.
The brother of Ilk's serpent appears over Chaos. It is bugling Suhuy's name to get his attention. Suhuy shows up. He throws tendrils through Jean to check with Princess Chandra in Cobalt for the appropriate response, but she's busy. He responds.
"Summoned, I obey."
The Serpent allows for Suhuy to know in Serpent tongue that although he is not the Serpent's Apprentice, he is required to assist the Serpent's sister. Suhuy grabs ecto-Ilk, the Serpent's Apprentice, and Ferethyn and pulls them through Jean to his tendrils in Cobalt.
There is a bit of a difficulty that Princess Chandra is dealing with. It is mostly formless, but it is there, and it is holding the anima of Suhuy, Suhuy, and Dworkin. Princess Chandra and Erica are doing an impressive job of fighting it - Princess Chandra with Serpent power and Erica with swords and fractal power.
A moment after Ilk arrives, the winged Wyrm arrives.
Princess Chandra explains between attacks that the thing took the three of them by complete surprise, and took her by surprise as well. It was in the corral and turned and ate one of the others in the corral, and what attacked was the resultant.
The group proceeds to smite.
Cailin feels magic being drained gently from him. He sprints towards House Cara at speed. The drain continues. The bear-mage points out to Cailin that he's being drained by Ferethyn, not the former head of the Mages' Guild.
Cailin continues to worry. The bear-mage does something, and claims that he has removed access to the well that is inside Cailin. They eventually decide that Amaranth needs to go help Ferethyn, and tell Jean. Jean asks Ilk in the tree if Marial is done with Amaranth, she should help Ferethyn. Ilk immediately yanks a partially dressed Amaranth through Jean to the Spiral, and then slams her with variable Pattern. Her ear-rings explode; Ilk channels the power away from her head. Ilk tells Marial of the situation. She suggests that he blame Amaranth's motion on someone else, and offers to help.
Cailin experiments, and determines that he can't currently cast magic. The bear mage is sent off to search for and destroy Cailin's signature, and Beldin is told to dispose of Saruman.
In the restaurant, Hubert turns around, does something with his amulet, and Cailin freezes. Hubert turns back to Beldin and says, "I believe we are safer now."
Beldin replies, "Well, maybe."
Cailin in House Cara feels himself drift behind himself, and sees his body start to attack the bear mage. The bear mage is mostly ignoring the attacks and occasionally saying, "Ow, quit it."
Cailin's spirit form wanders out, and vaguely communicates with a drunk member of House Cara. All attempts to talk to the bear mage fail - his body disrupts ...
Cailin yetis while inside House Cara. His body screams, falls to the ground, and starts flopping around. The bear mage looks at the screaming form, the yeti, and goes back and forth a bit, then kicks the screaming body in the head and goes back to his work.
Cailin jumps up and down on his screaming body's head. His body is very resilient.
Cailin goes back out to find reinforcements. Someone insistantly offers him a beer. Cailin eventually drinks the beer. The Old Lord that he just drank takes over his mouth and says, "Thank you. Now I can go into the house without getting fried."
The Old Lord insists that the yeti is Cailin's body -- he's in it, although he'll be pissed out sooner or later. He's got an infestation by the former head of the mages guild, and a kidney disease, too. He'll pass him much too quickly.
