Walkabout, Minus One

Serpent's Apprentice sees Hamster Dworkin arrives with Duncan and Hubert in tow at the Dragon council's promontory. Hubert is carrying a small pack.

[Time has passed sufficient for Hubert to grow back his leg.]

Norton has finished with what he is doing with the centaur woman. The soul now has a body, but the two have not been jammed together yet. This is Norton's third attempt at constructing a body; the first two were deemed unviable and destroyed.

Hubert turns to the Serpent's Apprentice, bows to him, and asks him if he is part of the power structure of Chaos. "Technically, not really. In practice, almost certainly."

Hubert apologizes for being premature, but states that he would like to convey a message to the power structure of Chaos by the first channel possible. Ilk replies that he is capable of communicating such.

Hubert hands over a nice, well-written scroll apologizing for the existance of vengeance blade with Ilkandacian's signature on it. He can tell that although Hamster Dworkin did not exactly dictate the letter, he influenced the letter significantly.

Duncan is about as barely Pattern-active at the moment as he could be without no longer being an Amberite. He also has a number of new scars.

In House Chanicut

Geryon is in his rooms in House Chanicut, watching a Chaos beast raven on the other side of a Logrus shield that was created by his instructor. He back-tracks the beast to the ruins of his parents' domicile. Much destruction, including much of his childhood memorabilia. He traces the creature back further to the front door of the House, where it was apparently checked in normally.

Geryon sends a note via Logrus to the door-keeper asking if a chaos-beast has been checked in recently. The door-keep challenges Geryon's authority.

Geryon folds the shield around the beast and walks out into the hallway. There is a gasp and a scittering of feet away from him. Geryon sends a tendril after it. It's a person, running away at high speed. One of the people that he grew up with.

The person lies a lot. Geryon takes the lying person with him along to the gate, where the gatekeeper greets him warmly and tries to explain the concept of security codes. The beast is determined to have damaged House property, and possibly be part of an unlicensed assassination. The person on the end of the tendril is identified as the one who signed in the beast. The doorkeeper states that perhaps they should turn him over to the Guild.

The doorkeeper sends a messenger off to the Assassins' Guild, and a Sith arrives shortly. The Sith decides to investigate the matter, places a hand on the ex-friend, and disappars with him. The Sith returns and Geryon leads him to his room. The Sith walks through the shield, apparently cutting it without doing anything obvious. The beast lunges at him and the assassin shifts, grabs it, and they both disappear.

The Logrus shield unravels. Right before the shield finishes unraveling completely, there is a polite tap on Geryon's shoulder. He turns and states, "Did you see that? Wow!" Geryon's teacher asks about the disposition of the shield, and states that perhaps Geryon should investigate the enemies that he appears to have gained within the House.

With The Dragon Council

An assassin arrives and asks Princess Chandra for permission to interrogate a claimed member of House Moonlight. She sighs, and asks Ilk if he knows of a way to acquire useful minions.

Norton returns to Ilk, Princess Chandra, and Kintani and claims that he is done. The Serpent's Apprentice slaps the centaur-woman's soul into her new body.

She draws a deep breath, and screams. A wave of fear washes over everyone present. Ilk provides her with some air.

A while later, Ilk feels a bit hungry, and mentions this to Princess Chandra. She's hungry, too... and they both look at the centaur-woman. Ilk gives her some grain, and after some experimentation, adds some beer.

Serpent's Apprentice incinerates the contaminated body with dragonfire and spreads the resulting particles widely across the Sea of Chance.

Princess Chandra sends the centaur-woman back to her Guild-hall with the messenger, then leaves for the Primal Pattern to talk with Cailin.

Ilk chats with Kintani, who is planning on staying here to listen to the dragon council talk. The dragons are discussing whether or not to ever admit that this happened, and what they are going to do about Kintani.

Hamster Dworkin asks for a demonstration of some more esoteric powers to demonstrate to Duncan and Hubert that they aren't quite in charge of the universe. Ilk plays with the Sea of Chance briefly, Logrus-pulling the Amberites, soul-goes-in, soul-goes-out, fishing a demon out of the Sea, naming, and binding it. Pushing them onto the island, then kicking the island out to Sea. Hokey pokey in the Sea of Chance.

Ilk sends the group, via Logrus, to Norton, Jean, Titania, Faythe, and Natasha in Ferethyn's ways.

Near the Pattern

Cailin is standing in the center of the Primal Pattern when Princess Chandra appears. Wixer burbles at her, but Jean checks it fairly quickly.

Princess Chandra shouts at Cailin, asking him about a supposed member of House Moonlight. Cailin doesn't recognize the name. She asks Cailin to come to her -- she doesn't like shouting. He refuses, claiming that a relative of the former head of the Mages' Guild is currently attacking.

Princess Chandra turns sideways, and is then standing next to him at the center of the Pattern. "Don't draw too much attention -- the Pattern hasn't noticed me yet." She places a hand on his shoulder and pushes an image into his head. He doesn't recognize it, and tells her.

Princess Chandra asks Cailin if he would mind verifying that in person. Princess Chandra opens an ordinary magical gate from here to Chaos. No snow, and not using very much power, either. The imposter walks through, screams, and melts.

Princess Chandra and Cailin chat. Princess Chandra gives Cailin a mahogany rocking chair and a book about some of the more exciting assassination efforts in the history of the Guild. One of the stories is from Princess Chandra, about a time when she had to hunt down and kill one of her children.
