Characters represented by players at this run: Cailin, Geryon and Ilk.

Geryon is Entanged into Chaosian Politics

A member of the Etiquette Guild has approached Geryon, said, "I am to deliver this to you", and handed him a piece of paper. It reads, "Having insulted our house, we offer you challenge." It's signed by "Cailin, Head of House Moonlight".

While Geryon is reading the letter, another member of the Etiquette Guild shows up with another letter. The next note is almost verbatim, but it is signed, "Vlad, Head of House Cara."

Geryon knows that House Moonlight was created as a major house by Princess Chandra because House Barimen pissed her off. She doesn't know anything about Cailin.

Geryon asks his observer about House Cara. It is an ancient and venerable House, was on the side of Amber in the last Amber/Chaos war, and holds the best parties. It is said that there is always a party in progress there, and it was the focus of the last major election.

Geryon goes to the Assassins' Guild, where the person manning the front desk confirms that the first letter is not in Cailin's hand, and that the second letter is lacking the beer stains of a standard missive from House Cara.

Geryon goes to the Etiquette Guild and tells them about some imposters pretending to be members of their Guild. He and his balloon are led into a room where he is questioned by someone wearing Torturers' Guild insignia. When Geryon mentions the Assassins' Guild, the questioning ... eases... somewhat and the questioner leaves the room to verify his story. When the door closes, Geryon's Logrus tendrils collapse.

Geryon and his captive chat. The captive falls over, and an assassin taps Geryon on the shoulder. The assassin states that he was assigned to watch Geryon's investigation, on the off chance that his investigation took him somewhere that the Guild's investigations did not.

Geryon is told that the torturer is one who is listed in the rolls as "Missing". Nobody has ever publically impugned the honor of the Etiquette Guild, whereas the Assassins' Guild thank those who point out traitors. The assassin tells Geryon that he is probably unlikely to see the light of day again, and that he might want to search for previously unknown resources should the chance for an escape present itself.

The door starts to open, and Geryon flees, Logrus-pulling to the door of the Assassins' Guild.

Suhuy receives a note stating that his new Logrus initiate Geryon has a bad habit of pulling towards the Assassins' Guild.

Geryon steps into the Assassins' Guild and starts complaining. He is shooed into a side room as a member of the Etiquette Guild approaches.

"Excuse me. We have found it necessary to take out a contract on someone."

"A member of some house... Geryon, or something like that."

"I have never heard a member of the Etiquette Guild be vague about any person in Chaos."

The supposed Etiquette Guild member tries to depart, and discovers that he has become among the departed. Geryon notices that the corpse belongs to one of the two people that handed him a note.

Two members of the Assassins' Guild brute squad -- burly, full black armor and black flowing cape -- pick up the two halves of the imposter and head out, presumably towards the Etiquette Guild.

Geryon returns to his House, where he finds the Archivist waiting with a note of Geryon's claiming insult. They chat for a while and are both reassured that it was all a misunderstanding.

The archivist calls out to the Savior of Chaos, and Ilk answers. Ilk recovers the letters from the Etiquette Guild, but the torturer is no longer in the room.

Ilk searches for the author of the notes, and fails. The Archivist tries to do something bibliomantic, and Geryon, the Archivist, Geryon's balloon, and a couple of Ilk's tendrils are transported into a cell in the Assassins' Guild next to a guy. Ilk's tendrils start laughing.

Ilk places a sticky note on the information about a possible jailbreak percolating towards Princess Chandra explaining the situation. Geryon rants a bit. Ilk adds a mention that Geryon needs to learn to fear the Assassins' Guild a bit more.

A thug comes down to beat up the prisoner. Geryon and the Archivist argue for some time.

The thug is returned, and food arrives. The Archivist digs into his food heartily. Geryon eats. A few Ilk tendrils throw licorice whips and strands of spaghetti about while singing, "Nobody knows the trouble I've seen..."

The interrogation continues. The archivist scraws on the prisoners' skin and he answers questions. Group of people from House Hendrake, trying to hose the alliance of good houses and elevate a new guy over Neville, who is a traitor.

Ilk sends a note to the effected houses warning them of false messages.

During the interrogation, the guy re-summons the chaos beast. Ilk stuffs it back. Some assassins move the party upstairs.
