It's been about 30 minutes Chaos-time since the mess with the Black Council. 5-7 minutes Amber-time, and about a week-and-a-half in Cobalt.
Cagliostro and a mob of others, including most surviving Cobaltians are in the Spiral room. Dworkin, Hamster Dworkin, Gentleman Suhuy, and ecto-Ilk are holding up the variable Pattern net.
Cagliostro's daughter doesn't think that he should attempt the Spiral -- she has determined that her mother must be the Amberite, and thinks that Cagliostro wouldn't survive.
Cagliostro is horrified at the lack of understanding that the residents of Cobalt have of their power source. He decides not to walk the Spiral.
In the Hamster Reality, Ilk has just seen the Logrus nebula completely freeze. Ilk realizes that there is no Serpent Power in this promontory. He has Jean leave a note for Princess Chandra in the Assassins' Guild -- she's in discussion with the new Dragon Council.
Ilk looks below the promontory, and finds a corpse of a Serpent. It has been shredded, ripped from stem to stern. Ilk sends another note via Jean, listed as relevant, important, and urgent. Jean is told that they are in the Serpent's Antechamber. Ilk in the tree sends the note via the Logrus into the Serpent's Antechamber. A return note shows up on the same channel, stating that his presence would be useful.
Ilk from the Hamster-verse shows up in Shiryu's ways and triggers Shiryu's answering machine. He leaves a note apologizing for his brief stay. Ilk in the bansai tree successfully passes Ilk through the Logrus to the Serpent's Antechamber.
Jean convinced King Neville to Pattern-walk out of the mess in the Assassins' Guild. Neville and primal Jean arrive in Amber quickly. There are two Randoms shouting for a medic, and a bloody mess of a Tate. Jean fills Neville in on the situation in Chaos and Cobalt.
Neville summons his advisors for a meeting.
Kintani, Ormimbar (the studious dragon), the winged Wyrm, and Princess Chandra. Princess Chandra bows to Ilk; he returns the converse.
The fill each other in. The group talks about establishing a link with Shiryu's people to have wyrms and krakens checked.
Someone approaches the mob in Cobalt and states that Erica has been found. She's apparently under siege. The Dworkins, ecto-Suhuy, and Ecto-Ilk are staying behind in the Spiral room; everyone else goes off to join in the fun. When told of Cailin's note (that was also signed by Natasha) they decide to bring arms. They encounter a river of marbles. Cagliostro takes a careful, passive look at them through a lens. There are too many things there.
They continue up the hill, and are suddenly under attack from long-range missile weapons from nothing in sight. The attackers are dealt with, and determined to be trying to smite those in charge of the marbles.
The group continues into the Fractal Realms.
Cailin is at the dragon egg place. He's talking with dragons and trying to get eggs to hatch. Shapeshifting problems ensure.
