In Pearl

Corwin, Cassandra, and Osric are at dinner, waiting for dinner to arrive, when a servant enters the room. The servant tells them that the Sha'um are preventing anyone from leaving the kitchen, so he had to climb out a window and scale a wall. Corwin goes off with the servant and returns with a few boxes of food.

Dinner happens. Dressing is complicated by cats barricading people into various rooms throughout the castle.

White Company, Cassandra, and Cailin go to a fight and some drinking breaks out.

In Chaos

Neville plays with his new pet and feeds it an import. One of the mages who accompanied him earlier enters, and tells him that the new head of the Mages Guild has stated that the issue of the missing House elders should be dealt with quickly.

Neville goes to Mandor and ask for the aid of the council. Mandor asks Jean to invite Ilk to join them; Ilk arrives shortly. The search is discussed; Ilk suggests acquiring Norton's assistance. Ilk and Neville depart. As Ilk is tendri'ing out, Jean sticks his head out and pulls Ilk back inside, where Mandor tells him that the situation is more dire than he wanted to state before; Jenoir has cast augers that bode ill if the elders do not turn up dead, soon. Fully two-thirds of the mages have not yet sworn to Jenoir.

Ilk searches Chaos for Malachai, doesn't find him, and then starts searching shadow.
