Major Events:

From Jean's player:

Osric, Rainbow, and Jean waited for the Gwen Manifestation arrival. Osric realized he could spin his shield like a blade and saw through the statue more quickly. He did so, after the arrival of a large white hippogriff. Said hippogriff smacked Osric's shield around the statue, broke its hoof, and went off to sulk and think about it.

A bunny poked its nose through. Osric jabbed it with a lance of his force, and the bunny ate the lance. Panic ensued among those in the bubble at the thought of what this would do to those inside it. At some point, Osric says "Are you a representative of Gwen?" to the hippogriff and the shield begins to snow white dust from somewhere. Osric empties out the dust occasionally and reforms it.

Osric creates a Fringe crystal on the bunny to zap it. The crystal's zapping power does not work in this shadow or on this bunny, but the crystal does confirm the bunny's fringeworthy.

To deal with the bunny, Osric attempts to gate it elsewhere in the shadow. (That's good.) The bunny eats the energy of the gate, so the attempt does not work as expected. (That's bad.) The bunny is halfway through before the gate collapses, so it's sheared in half. (That's good.) The energy required made Osric _very_tired_ and noticeably drained the Fringe's power supply. (That's bad.)

The bunny was coming slowly out of the ground, when that encounter occurred, they bumped into the top of the shadow and saw rents in the curtain

Osric finished cutting off the statue and opend up the Fringe gate behind the statue. He made a connection past the edge of the gate, past the event horizon, and *WHAM* the entire mile-and-a-half deep cylinder of stuff went shooting out through the Fringe gate and off the Fringe. Osric now has more energy than he started off with. The pile of dust that has been raining from Osric's shield begins to form another white statue.

Various stuff happens that I [Jean's player] have written down. Osric goes through the gate and sees that the Fringe platform is built up with marble buildings, columns, statues, and fountains. There's a large hole where the cylinder went through. Through the connection to another gate is a large building. The building overhangs the fringe ramp, and goes almost to the event horizon.

There's a door in the building. No one feels like opening it. The group exeunts back to the shadow. At some point, Osric dissolves the shield and creates a new one. The new shield does not rain dust.

The second statue cannot be moved into the Fringe; it's immune to the gate. People are impressed. Norton's fire is suggested. Jean asks Norton for an example that can be passed through to Pearl. Norton cannot make it last, and Snarsht is asked for help. Snarsht turns his head and talks to Melk, who turned out to be there. Melk freezes Norton's fire in time. Jean uses his trump fish to pass the frozen fire through. Jean pulls the fire out of the fish and gives it to Osric. Rainbow uses the frozen fire as a model (and Norton's signature as well). The statue catches fire and burns prettily.

Jean passes the frozen fire back and puts it on a prominent place on one of his mantles in Swayvill. Somewhere, Gwen notices that two of her statues have been destroyed. Gwen presses the button labelled "overkill". The entire shadow rains dust. Bailing is decided upon. Rainbow opens a connection to the Void, where people follow him through. Rainbow rips his way out of the Void at the Egg place. (I forget whether the Void is named as such or associated with Ingold.)

Osric is impressed that Rainbow found the Egg place. Osric goes through the local Fringe gate (which is facing away from the bowl-shaped depression of dragon eggs) and logs in and checks the status on a few things. Oscric experiments with the idea of disconnecting and reconnecting Fringe gates. Osric determines that the contagion is no worse. He has email from the Mellor, wanting more supplies. Osric emails the Mellor back, asking them for a shopping list, apologizing, and promising to be by soon.

Jean and (and, presumably, Rainbow) putter around the eggs. Jean finds an egg that he can bud into, and does so. The body is definitely dragonish. This makes clearer some of the stuff Mom was talking about. The dragon Jean gets used to the idea of being in an egg, and waits to be born. (Slouching towards Bethlehem, no doubt.) He concentrates on "watching" his body develop.

The exterior Jean pulls Rainbow and Osric through to house Cara, staying behind himself. (Far enough away from the eggs not to get eaten.) Rainbow ends up where Flora is. Osric ends up on House Cara. Osric reports in somewhat more coherently than Jean did, and passes along useful information to Ilk that I have forgotten. It seemed pretty critical at the time, though.

The attack on the House is still going on. A discussion of Trump eavesdropping happens. Jean asks Rainbow whether or not he can be eavesdropped on while Trumping. Rainbow says, "Probably". That seems rude to Jean, so he has decided to accelerate the project of creating a Trump Fish that he can use to pass things around the universe with.

Amaranth is given a small tour of MandorWays by Mandor. She's given her own quarters in a high tech shadow (not much magic, ocean view, cliff out the window, robotic servant that Mandor destests, Shadow-dwellers don't drink alcohol so Mandor has his own anachronistic bar in the room). Mandor helps Amaranth retrieve her clothes from Samantha and Tabitha's castle, apparently without resorting to scrying. (The castle's here... the best guestroom is here... the closet in that room is here...)

Mandor shows Amaranth an embroidered family tree, which was given to him by Flora. Dworkin is on the female side, with the unicorn on the male side. Benedict, Finndo, and Osric are listed as Oberon's eldest, and Randolph, Ingold, and Johann are listed as Benedict's descendants. Llewella and Tiasa are shown as full siblings, and Jackie is shown as a sister of Flora.

After dropping off her clothes, Amaranth and Mandor adjourn to a dining area where Mandor whips up a rather tremdous meal, and relaxes and shows off quite a bit. After the meal, the etiquette guild member arrives and announces Silver Lyra, who is already in the room. Mandor, Silver Lyra, and Amaranth talk. They talk about the Poisoner's Guild. Silver Lyra informs Mandor that the free-lance assassins tried to poison Amaranth, but didn't scale their poison to take into account her Amberite heritage.

Mandor is distressed. Using a Jean (who was present for the meal, and was introduced to Amaranth specifically as his half-sister via his mother), he asks Princess Chandra to undertake the task of wiping out a Guild. Chandra is okay with this, and will have the paperwork dropped by the next morning.

Silver Lyra was wondering where Princess Chandra was, and passes a note through Jean to her. Amaranth is introduced to the homoculjean. Silver Lyra finds the experience quite useful, and asks that a couple of Jeans go to the Dancer's Guild and find the recordkeepers? and sit down near them, so that when they're looking for people they can ask Jean. She also mentions that there are a few Dancers keeping an eye on the Benedict in Castle Amber.

Amaranth retires to her room. Jean sets up station outside her door and catches forty winks himself. He sets up a few motion detectors on the puppet to wake him up if anything walks down the hallway, and then curls up to sleep.

Cassandra chats with Chandra. She's okay with going after the Poisoners, but not sure if she's okay with the team that Chandra is assembling (to include Zorro). Bun-bun grouses about not getting a shot at the Easter Bunny yet.

Masque is alive again and feeling frisky, and has been pulled through to Cassandra. Atalanta tagged Masque before she went through; Masque is agitated.

Norton and Snarsht went into the Darkoven overworld with a few Jeans and Celeste to fix Felice. Snarsht, whose overworld form is a kitten-scale housecat, is curled up on Felice's lap. Snarsht has a special bowl in Clarissa's pantry that Celeste recalls having been told never to use.
