Jean, Cailin, Cassandra, and Osric discuss pulling the statue into this room.
Random stops trumping Jean. Jean gradually sobers up.
Tazik is pointing a sharp pointy at him, and says that Jean tried to gnaw on her cat. Jean notices a long slash along this body.
Cailin casts a spell to create a vacuum of sorts around the wings, and the group steps back onto the Fringe. Jean felt a twinge as he stepped onto the Fringe. Osric notices that the Fringe defenses went off briefly when they went through the gate, examines Jean, and notices a touch of Gwen about Jean.
Osric gives Cailin a pressure suit and a chain and passes him into the room. Cailin attaches the chain to the bell and retreats through the gate, causing the chain to follow him. The chain, bell, Galantine, and wings go flying into the Fringe. There are two rivulets of bright red blood coursing down the wall from where the wings were.
Osric has a volunteer removes the sword from the wings and tosses the bell, chain, and wings over the edge. The volunteer turns white and is thrown over the edge.
They send another volunteer off to collect some of the blood. The blood is zapped by the Fringe defenses. Jean decides that he can fish it out, and asks Ilk if he wants some. Ilk suggests Jenoir. Jenoir suggests Snarsht, who is not present. Jean asks Corwin, who suggests Norton. Jean asks Ilk where Norton is; Ilk tells Jean that Norton is Brandt and missing. Jean relays to Corwin, more or less.
Darhyse unblades, yawns, stretches, and scares Osric's army. Darhyse tells Cassandra that she wants to hunt.
Osric gives Jean a shielded sample of Gwen blood, and he fishes it to outside the council chambers. All of the walls in the room disappear; the Fringe gate is gone. Through the monitors from the Fringe they now see a large field with grazing hexapods.
Jean tries to send the fish to sandy Jean, but the fish refuses to go.
Cailin stands put; Osric starts walking towards Cailin. Cailin starts pulling off the pressure suit; Osric hits the parts of Cailin that are not covered with the suit. Jean tries to talk, but fails - that him is made out of sandstone.
Cailin and Osric feel for a wall. They eventually find one. They follow it. Eventually, the grey lightens and they find the winged statue with a ring of more than ten statues sitting in lotus position. One of the statues occasionally has a black thing sticking out of it, like a tongue. Jean tells Cassandra that they've found the statues.
Cailin examines the black thing sticking out of one of the statues, and it pokes him briefly, and for a moment, he can use his magic. For a brief moment, Norton can hear a scream.
Osric touches the black thing, gains access to his power, and grabs it with his power.
All of Norton's velocity just stopped and the Logrus blade is lying on the ground over there.
Osric, Cailin, and Norton fiddle with the blade. Cailin starts smoking.
Cailin tries to probe the statues, and notices that the statues have the signature of Clarissa.
Norton and his head people try to make the grey sphere shatter by reshaping the blade, with no success.
Osric tries to probe into the statue with his power. His tendril seems to go off at right angles to reality when it starts penetrating it.
Jean tells Ilk that Osric and company have found grey statues.
Osric pokes the Gwen statue with his power, is badly hurt, and barely scratches the statue.
Cailin is positive that inside the statue is someplace other than here.
Osric touches Jean to the black thing, and that him can speak. Cailin contemplates opening a gate into the statue.
Jean fires off a rip hole in reality spell, aiming for the grey statue. He misses to the side, and they see a flash of desert off to the side for a few seconds, and then the grey mist returns.
The statue says, "Would you please stop all of that screaming?" Cailin withdraws. The screaming stops. "Thank you. It doesn't sound like the inside of my head any more!"
"That's Norton."
Cailin tries to open a gate into that sphere, and opens a hole to something. They dump a statue through into the raining place on the other side. Cailin shifts the end point to the other side of the gate to farther from the gate. They toss the other grey statues through.
Jean casts a rip hole in reality spell at the white statue. Sandstone Jean suddenly turns white. Osric drops it. Jean notices that input just died, and another Jean is looking at a rapidly expanding hole in reality.
[Norton is a liar]
They go through the gate, taking the statue with him.
Norton tries to vibrate the sphere again, and those outside notice the statue screaming.
Norton starts trying to pour himself inside out. Ilk in Norton's head simultaneously starts trying to reach out with the Logrus. Norton pours out of the tube. The black thing stays put.
Norton looks around and rants. An Ilk head pops out of Norton and looks around, and then reaches out to Suhuy.
Around Norton, the rain starts falling up. The air grows warmer. An animated table walks over, laden with food.
A Mandor head and arm pops out and starts feeding itself.
There is a guy approaching by climbing up the cliff. He's real, and might have a family resemblance to Caine.
The man introduces himself as Gomez Addams. Norton goes undead. Gomez mentions that he is looking for an artistic wedding present for his good friend Malachai.
Norton and Ilk play with Julian-shaped voodoo doll and pills. Gomez mentions that there is a white statue around that is the subject of worship; he is warned against it.
Gomez leaves; Osric's truck gates off to a Fringe gate. The statue that Norton was in falls off as they drive the truck through the gate. Cailin gates Norton and the statue to outside the Council chambers.
When Norton enters the council chamber, he is patronized by Corwin and sent off to "solve the Brandt problem so there can be more of you". Norton and Ilk grumble at each other out loud, then pull Norton to Ilk's home, where Brandt is helping fix things.
