Space Stuff
- The
Delta Clipper is a prototype for a single-stage VTVL launch
platform that might actually help get us off this rock. Recently, the
DC-X project has been concluded, and the DC-XA (Advanced Experimental)
has replaced it. I mirrored several pictures
(pre-medium,
pre-near,
post,
post-men)
and a quicktime movie of its most
recent flight here from the archive at
utexas.
- The MIT Center for Space Research.
- The Space Telescope Electronic
Information Service distributes data mostly derived from the Hubble
Space Telescope, including quite a few good pictures.
- The Space Access Society
is "dedicated to promoting affordable, reliable access to space for
all." Sounds good to me.
- The National Science
Foundation (NSF) is on the web, and their
Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS) has a
home page with links to several divisions, including the
Division of Astronomical Sciences (AST).
- The American Astronomical Society
- Space trivia! This might not work
very well if you have a crippled web client, but you can always just
download it (long text file) and view it locally.
- Sky & Telescope Magazine.
