Two Beavers each holding a diploma. Each beaver is holding a diploma from MIT: 2 (Mech Eng.) and 22 (Nuch Eng.). One beaver tail is cross hatched while the other has MIT carved into it. This was made possible by having facilities such as the Hobby Shop and Edgerton Center. Thank you Ken Stone and Mark Belanger. The goal is to add two more beavers to the cap and to make the whole thing out of wood.

Solid Maple Desk :

Solid piece of Maple wood used for a free form desk. The dimensions of the desk is a maximum of 8 ft by 1.5 ft.

Beaver Cane:



Whittled from two pieces of cherry. The staff has an evolutionary design that goes from a natural chaotic branch texture to an organized structure that then morphs into an organic structure. The rough shape of the beaver was done on the bandsaw, and whittled into shape. A hand rounter was used to create some of the more intricate details. I would like to thank Mark Belanger for his help.

Cherry & Maple Frame:

The Canvas painting was donated to the House of International Development by Amos Winter, Grad Student in Mechanical Engineering. I made a solid wood frame to put it on the wall. The frame is primarily cherry with an inner frame of quilted pacific maple.

Cherry Chocolate Box

The bottom of the box is made up of thin strips of Maple, Cherry, and Walnu glued together to make the decorative feature gibe you when the chocolate runs out. The exterior of the box is solid cherry with an inlay ladder design.

Cherry Ply UROP & UAAP Signs



Both signs are made of cherry venier plywood with solid cherry edging. Each Sign is eight feet in length by one foot in height. The letters are made up of thin aluminum. The letters were cut with the Omax Waterjet Machine in the MIT HobbyShop. The UROP logo was manuctured using CNC mill.

Birch Ply Desk

The desk is used to test CCD Cameras while at the same time consolidate the work area. The desk was first designed in Solidworks which cut the building and assembly time to a mere thirty five hours.

Gift for Mom

Aug 2012: Consists of a solid piece of aluminum 6 inches in diameter. On the top there is a flower that was engraved using the eztrack and the interior of the lid as a personal message. Three sphere 1/8" diameter help align the lid in the X-Y direction and three magnets pull the lid to the enclosure

Fresco's Thank you

Sept 2012: Consists of an engraved aluminum 3/8" thick using the Bridgeport EZtrack. All of the engraving was coded in Mastercam, and separated into four files due to the detail. The piece was sanded painted and sanded again to get the black engraved letters. This is only a small token of appreciation to Fresco's a business that treated the customers like family. Thank you Maria and Jimmy!

Chassis for JPL

Designed and manufactured to house electronic components. The image above is the bottom of the chassi.

POETS on IRTF Optics Enclosure

Created for mounting the POETS camera on the IRTF telescope in Hawaii. The final product was black anodized to prevent reflections. Mostly made out of Aluminum 6061 and machined at the Edgerton Student Shop.

Wallace Filter Wheel

Filter Wheel For Wallace 24" Telescope. The wheel and the exterior frame was cut with the Omax Waterjet. The material is Al 6061. Design illustrations and diagrams are located under MIT Research/ Wallace Camera/ Filter Wheel.

Wallace Camera Dewar

The front lid I machined on a CNC lathe. Design illustrations and diagrams are located under MIT Research/ Wallace Camera/ Dewar.

MagIC II Upgrade


the back lid and inside of the dewar I machined on a CNC Endmill using MasterCam. Design illustrations and diagrams are located under MIT Research/ MagIC Upgrade/ Dewar.
