Experimental Re-Creation

Experiments are reconstructed on film for multiple reasons. These include pedagogy and proof.  In the first instance: an experiment might be filmed in order to record, in detail, the kinds of specific skills and maneuvers necessary in order to perform it. In the second instance, an experiment might be filmed in order to testify to its occurrence. The Journal of Visual Experimentation (JOVE), launched online in 2006, engages with both the pedagogical and the evidentiary aspects of experimental re-creation.
