Human Interest

Human-interest science documentaries focus on the character of specific scientists.  Emphasis is placed on his or her relationship with research subjects and colleagues.  Here, by focusing on a specific scientific research project (Koko the Talking Gorilla) we will consider the question of how the use of film changes the kinds of stories about science and scientists that get told, and the kinds of relationships that can be explored.
