Another Christmas. Things were not as pleasant this year as last, it was Danielle's first speaking Christmas and she couldn't stop talking about what she wanted and how she was going to play and who she would play with and why she would share her new toys and so on. For Claude and myself though, things were not as simple and pleasant. The situation in Paris was becoming more and more strained, people were beginning to attack any nobility that they saw in the street. In fact, last week, while walking with Danielle, we saw two guardsmen attack and kill a poor man for loitering on the street. It was a terrible scene.

On the positive side, my entry in Les Autres Idees was a success. Women around town were reading it and relating to my view points. I felt amazing. The reason that I mention this is that I have heard of a woman who has announced to the Administration plans to open her own printing shop. Mlle Louise-Felicite Guynement de Keralio will be opening the "National Printing Shop of the District of the Daughters of St. Thomas." The concept of a woman opening her own printing shop is a wonderful thing, the industry is dominated by men and it is very difficult for women to make a mark. She is asserting her natural right. Congratulations Louise!

One more thing before I fall asleep, Claude and I received news not to long ago that Buisson and Brissot's journal Patriote Francais. The Book Trade had begun to suppress the prospectus and prohibit publication of the journal. We had been reading it since it came out for the first time in April of this year and it was an excellent publication. Unfotunatley after being prohibited, Buisson wrote the administration denying any relation to Brissot. Its a shame when such wonderful unions crash and burn because of the man.
