Another miracle! Michel was born today. A healthy happy bouncy baby boy. Claude was overwhelmed. He loves Danielle dearly but I know that he had always wanted a son. Michel looks very much like Claude and he will not let Michel out of his sight. Even when his friends came over to congratulate him, Claude would constantly leave them to check on his new son. Rosalie came in again to help me with the pregnancy and other household stuff. One of the men laughing away in the living room has taken a shine to her. She giggles like a schoolgirl when he makes eyes at her. It is rather funny. Claude has picked up on it too and we laugh about it at night.

Last week I finally got my hands on a copy of Condorcet's "On the Admission of Women to the Right of Citizenship" published in July. It was a beautiful piece of writing, laying out all of the contradiction that have been made on the part of men where they assume that they are better than women. Cordocet highlights the fact that women work just as hard as men, we both have distinct work hours where women are toiling away in the home. Although there is mention of evidence that women are not as intellectual as men for they have not as many scientific or political discoveries but then the enlightened men are few. I believe that there are quite a few enlightened women, they just haven't had their chance to shine. But men are granted the right to vote and be heard because they are conscious, moral and reasoning beings. So are women.
