Paul and I started slow-dancing next to Karen and Gordon. (It looked
like they were hitting it off well; can I pick 'em or what?) As Paul
and I slowly spun around, I could see David across the room. Even
with all those other people on the floor, he was keeping his head in a
direct line with mine. He was staring at me! I hate it when he gets
all creepy like that.
Paul saw David too, on his turn around, and I guess he remembered that I wanted to stay away from David, and we both started slowly moving around on the floor. We didn't want to stray from Karen or Gordon--not that they'd have noticed, those two--so we tried to get on the other side of them. Each time I looked up, David was moving closer and closer. I tried to get Paul to move a little faster, but we had to keep slow or else David might notice what we were doing. The next time I looked up, David wasn't even holding his date anymore! He'd actually pushed her aside so he could get a better view of me! I couldn't trust him any more; I kept watching him the entire time. Paul tried to say something to me, but I guess I was too worried to hear him. I looked down at him and asked him what he'd said. "Nothing," he answered. I gave him a quick smile to let him know I wasn't ignoring him, but that there were more important things going on. I looked up again to watch for David, and he had crept so close! He was only two couples away! I don't know what I could do--I had to get away from him! I just let go of Paul and ran into the bathroom. I might have even screamed a little. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
