I was looking at my sad face in the bathroom mirror. Here I was, made
up to look as pretty as I could be, and now I was about to cry and
ruin my whole face. That almost pushed me over the edge, and I was
almost crying when Karen came into the bathroom to check on me.
I think that's why Karen and I are such good friends; she's always there to listen to me and give me advice. I wouldn't have had the courage to go back out on the dance floor if it weren't for what she told me. I told her that David was up to something and that he was creeping me out and that he was obviously plotting something and then I asked her why he acted like that and what was up with Tom and what should I do about Paul and how could I salvage this horrible, horrible prom. "Wendy, you've been dating and breaking up with David every other month for the past two years. Something kept bringing you back to him, and if that's gone, put him out of your mind. For good. In any case, you and your date are supposed to have fun tonight, and you should be going out there and spending time with the guy you love, like I'm doing with Gordon." So, she's in love with Gordon, huh? I teased her about that little slip-up. "Date! I meant date!" she said. Yeah, whatever. But it was good advice. I'm going to go back out there, take David aside and talk to him. I'm going to tell him that he'd better straighten out because this just isn't funny, ruining my prom night like this. And if he keeps staring at me and acting creepy, I'm going to gauge his eyes out with my stiletto heels. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
