Possible issues or discussion directions include, but are not limited to: Queer studies and feminism; Sexuality, nationalism, and race; Sexuality and globalization; Sexuality and cultural production; Identity, language, and rhetoric of sex and sexuality; Sexuality in and throughout history, literature; Performativity, sexuality and performance; Transsexuality, transgenderism; Queer Diasporas; or Queer Transnationalisms.

The roundtable discussion will be an informal opportunity to meet and converse with colleagues doing work on related issues, share research, and brainstorm potential course ideas with colleagues. Several individual faculty members will be in attendance who are specifically working on developing a team-taught course on this topic.  We are actively seeking teaching teams for the 2013-2014 academic year and welcome proposals for later years as well.

If you have a course topic in mind and are interested in finding a teaching partner, if you plan on proposing a course already, or if you've wanted to learn more about the GCWS and our course development process, please join us on 2/10/12.  Refreshments will be provided.  For more information, contact Andi Sutton at arsutton@mit.edu.
