In Optimal Product Redesign, methods are taught methods to reverse engineer a product. Students create a product model based upon uncovered customer requirements, and optimize that model. This involves analytic engineering models where performance metrics can be minimized. It also subsequently involves experimental models in hardware, optimizing across fitted surfaces. It also involves hardware development.
