MIT Postdoctoral Associate, Spintronics

        There is an opening in Prof. Deblina Sarkar’s research group at MIT for a Postdoctoral Associate with experience in magnetic materials and spintronic devices.
        
            
             
Responsibilities
                - Fabricate spin-orbit torque devices using cleanroom facilities
 
                - Set-up and run experiments for current induced deterministic and probabilistic switching of ferromagnets
 
                - Characterise SOT efficiencies for the material combinations
 
                - Write research grants
 
        
           
                
            
            
Qualifications
                
Required:
 
                - PhD in materials science, electrical/electronics engineering, physics or relevant field
 
                - Strong background in magnetism, spin transport and spintronic devices
 
 
                - Experience in fabrication and characterisation of spin-orbit torque switching devices
 
                - Demonstrated ability to design and build measurement setups independently
 
            
            
Preferred Education and Experience:
 
                
                - Experience in magneto-optical measurements
 
 
                - Experience in fabrication and characterisation of spin-valves
 
 
                - Experience with multiferroic, ferroelectric and/or piezoelectric material systems
 
 
                - Experience in the use of magnetic cryostats
 
 
                - Experience in DFT, Monte Carlo, micromagnetic and/or spin transport simulations
 
                - Experience in instrument automation using LabVIEW, MATLAB and/or Python
 
                - Background in solid state physics and electronic devices
