Display technologies with unprecedented form factors, such as flexible and stretchable displays, have been a topic of broad interest in both academia and industry. In this talk, I will review the recent progress in flexible and stretchable displays. In particular, I will introduce a complementary thin-film transistor technology and integrated sensors for flexible display applications. Furthermore, I will also discuss the stretchable display technology based on inorganic light-emitting diodes. These technologies may enable tremendous new applications in the fields of smart devices, wearable electronics, human-machine interaction, and biomedics.

Dr. Jiahao Kang is currently an assistant professor in the School of Electronics, Peking University, Beijing, China. Dr. Kang received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA. Before joining Peking University, he had worked as an R&D Manager in the Frontier Research Center of Royole Corporation, USA, the world's leading flexible display and sensor innovator and manufacturer. Dr. Kang is the author of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in international conferences and journals, with 6,000 total citations and an H-index of 28. His current research interests include flexible electronics using emerging low-dimensional materials.
