Research summary:

My project, co-advised by Linda Griffith, involves using a microphysiological systems (MPS) approach to study endometriosis. This chronic inflammatory disease affects up to 10% of women of reproductive age around the world, but its etiology and pathogenesis are poorly understood and treatment options are limited. We hope to better elucidate disease progression and identify relevant targets for drug development by building an MPS model that captures the complex multicellular interactions in the endometriotic lesion microenvironment, including vascular and immune components.
