It's Health Information Privacy and Security
Week
At MIT Medical, confidentiality and patient privacy are an important part
of who we are and how we work. Beginning April 13, MIT Medical
will recognize Health Information Security and Privacy Week.
MIT Medical shares American Health Information Management Association's
mission to "improve
health care by advancing the best practices and standards for
health information management."
You can learn more about our patient rights and privacy policy by reviewing
our patient rights page on our website. Also, please read the

Two Great Organizations Are Joining Forces,
Resources and Purposes
spouses&partners@mit moves to the Center
for Health Promotion and Wellness at MIT Medical
spouses&partners@mit (formerly the MIT Wives Group)
is celebrating its 35th anniversary in the MIT community. This creative
and supportive program began in the Mental Health Service of MIT Medical.
Since its inception, the organization has helped spouses, partners, and
children of MIT graduate students, post-docs, and visiting scholars transition
from coping to thriving within the MIT community.
In looking for fresh ways to serve the community, spouses&partners@mit
has joined forces with the Center for Health Promotion
and Wellness at MIT Medical. The Center is charged with supporting the individual
and communal practice of healthful living through evidence-based programming
to help the Institute adopt and maintain healthy behaviors, attitudes,
and lifestyles. Jennifer Recklet, Program Coordinator, will continue to
provide overall program administration to the spouses&partners@mit members
while partnering with the health educators at The Center to build bridges
that improve overall health and well being. We wish to thank Jessica Barton,
who has been the group's Director for the past 10 years, for her commitment
to the MIT community through her leadership of spouses&partners@mit. The
Center for Health Promotion and Wellness is excited to welcome Jennifer
Recklet and this superb community outreach program that is valued by the
Institute community.
Please be sure to visit the spouses&partners website often to learn
about the latest news and events. Upcoming topics at spouses&partners@mit's
weekly meeting include marriage and transition, culture shock,
a fall foliage walk, and Halloween activities. Look for us
on the web at: http://web.mit.edu/spouses/.
