MITKCF is a community of students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology devoted to demonstrating the realness of God in all that we do, living out the connection between faith and daily living.
In order to help us fulfill our purpose, we meet regularly as a large group as well as in small groups. We also have prayer and outreach ministries to help us grow in these areas.
We are a chapter of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, an interdenominational evangelical student-oriented ministry found on college and university campuses nationwide.
We're also a part of United Christian Orientation, a collection of sixteen evangelical Christian student groups at MIT partnering together for the furthering of the kingdom of God on campus.
As a "Korean" Christian Fellowship, most of the members of MITKCF are Korean, but this is by no means a requirement. In fact, our membership and leadership spans many ethnic groups.
Furthermore, we do not all attend the same church; rather, we attend a variety of churches in the Greater Boston area. These churches span many demoninations, differing in many aspects; yet we all recognize our membership in the true Church, the union of all who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.
The purpose of MITKCF is to establish, assist, and encourage students who attest the Lord Jesus Christ as God Incarnate. Our major objectives are:
- To lead others to a personal faith in Christ as Lord and Savior.
- To help Christians grow toward maturity as disciples of Christ through the study of the Bible, through prayer, and through Christian fellowship.
- To present the call of God to the world mission of the Church, and to help students and faculty discover God's role for them
We believe in:
- The unique Divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness, and
authority of the Bible.
- The Deity of our Lord Jeus Christ.
- The necessity and efficacy of the substitutionary death of Jesus
Christ for the redemption of the world, and the historic fact of His
bodily resurrection.
- The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of
regeneration.
- The expectation of the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
