KCF has a variety of ministries, each tailored to meet a specifc purpose.
These range from the weekly large group meetings
for the entire fellowship, to the freshman mob focused on
meeting the needs specific to freshmen, and the
discipleship groups for the upperclassmen, to the
ministry training teams, the Outreach Team and
the Prayer Team , for developing skills and heart
in these specific areas.
The weekly large group meetings provide an opportunity for the entire KCF
community to worship together. Just as our daily lives involve interacting
with other people, so should our expression of worship. This worship
includes various aspects--singing, praying, studying scripture, having fun;
doing so in community allows us to all the more draw closer to each other
as well as to God.
See the calendar for details on what is going
on in the large group meetings this term.
The freshman mob is a setting designed specifically for our new
students. It's a time of learning about God in fun and exciting ways,
alongside others in the middle of the same experiences. Each week brings
something new, something different, in a mixture of large and small group
activities--a refreshing time for freshmen to gather together in the
pursuit of God among friends.
Just as our large group meetings allow for growth in breadth as a
community, our discipleship groups help us grow in depth as a community.
Designed for upperclassmen and divided by gender, these members help each
other find the intersection between faith and daily living, in ways most
relevant to each individual. Here, both the young and the mature in
faith can learn tangible practices which foster greater intimacy with God,
in the company of friends.
The following ministry training teams help the members grow in a specific
aspect of Christian life, one where they may have a particular interest or
ability. For the members, the aim is to more fully develop this interest or
ability. In turn, they help the rest of the KCF community by applying their
skills to the benefit of others, as well as by sharing their insights and
enthusiasm in the particular area of ministry.
The Outreach Team equips its members to share about Jesus in relevant
ways. The hands on training the members receive--a mixture of Biblical
insight, practical tools, and relational skills--enhances their ability
and heart to be a witness to the relationship they enjoy with God in
loving, engaging ways. Furthermore, with an understanding of the importance
of the community in outreach, they spur on the rest of the fellowship to
get involved in outreach as well.
The Prayer Team learns about many different aspects of a vibrant prayer
life, both individual and corporate. They receive practical teaching and
theological insight about a central spiritual discipline. Throughout the
year, they apply what they have learned to the fellowship as a whole,
leading times of corporate prayer as well as praying one-on-one for
others. Their example helps the fellowship to understand the power in
prayer in which the entire fellowship can share.
