Last year’s lecture notes                       Last years’ problem sets

Students familiar with the micro part of the course (described in the syllabus above) but not the macro part (email Ufuk at uakcigit@mit.edu for questions about the second half) may waive the first half with instructor permission (from Nathan and/or Glenn) and still receive a grade for the whole course by completing the second half (which begins October 25).  Similarly, students familiar with the macro part of the course but not the micro part may waive the second half with permission from Ufuk and/or Glenn.

10/14/05

Review questions and their solutions are now available for the midterm, which will be held in class on Thursday, October 20.  The exam will be intended to take 80 minutes; you will have 90 minutes to complete it.

Note that the review questions are mostly taken from old 14.102 exams, and that many of the ‘comments’ made in the solutions are indicative of typical mistakes made on those exams.

Note also that the distribution of the topics will be a little different on the exam than what you see in the review questions:  you should expect approximately 1/5 of the points to be allocated to real analysis, 2/5 to linear algebra, and 2/5 to optimization.

10/21/05

The midterm and its solutions may now be downloaded here.  Ufuk will begin the macro part of the course on Tuesday, in the same room and at the same time.
