Morse Code Concept Implementation

By Eager Beavers

Project Overview

In this museum adventure room, players will use an outdated communication method: telegraphy. As players enter the room, they notice pictures of the various methods and machines humans have used over the years to communicate and send messages over long distances. Some of these machines are on display and players get a chance to look at them and explore them closely. Some artififacts are covered up by glass cases, while one is not. Upon touching this artifact, an alarm is heard throught the room and lights start flashing. Players realize that the alarm sounds weird and is making repeated beeping sounds. They realize that the alarm is actually morse code. But how to they crack the code?

They start exploring around the room and see that the pictures on the wall all have captions in English and in morse code! They can use the captions to crack the morse code they hear, which is C-A-L-L, CALL! They notice a phone on the wall and realize they should use it. They dial C-A-L-L and wait...

A British man answers the phone and gives them a warning that the museum security is coming. They need to trasmit a message using the telegraph machine to open the door. The code is O-P-E-N, OPEN! The players use the captions once more to find the morse code translation. Once they find the code, the tap it on the telegraph. A door opens and they move on to the next room for another adventure...
