Arrival Instructions

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) system (called the “T”) will be the means of transportation for attendees from Northeastern University (NEU) to MIT. If you plan to take the T from the Airport Station, you should purchase a 1-day ONLY Charlie Ticket for $12.00. This 1-Day Pass will be valid 24 hours from date and time of purchase on trains, local bus, Inner-Harbor Ferry, and Commuter Rail Zone 1A. NNPSS will provide weekly Charlie Ticket (T-Passes) to all attendees on July 18th for both weeks. Your T-Passes will be valid for unlimited 24 hours and 7 days on Subway, Local Bus, plus Inner-Harbor Ferry, and Commuter Rail Zone 1A.

Directions from Logan International Airport to Northeastern University (NEU) International Village

NNPSS Attendees' dorm assignment is at the NEU International Village located at 1175 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02120. It’s easy to get to (NEU) International Village Dorms from Logan Airport by either a taxi or if you do not have a lot to carry, by public transportation (T).

Taxis are readily available from all terminals at Logan Airport. You should expect the ride to the dorm to cost USD $35 or more depending on traffic.

Traveling via the T

  1. When you exit the airport building on the lower level of each terminal, look for the blue-and-white Massport Shuttle Buses at curbside. You can board this bus for FREE and ride it until you arrive at the Airport Station of the MBTA system. The ride lasts from 3-10 minutes, depending on which terminal you take the shuttle bus from. The Airport Station stop is part of the Blue Line section of the T system.
  2. Enter the Airport T station and buy a Charlie Ticket for 1-day ($12.00) from the automatic vending machine.
  3. After entering the turnstile you will head to the Blue Line Inbound platform (the destination of this train is the Bowdoin Station). Take the train for 3 stops to the State Street station.
  4. State Street is on the Orange Line section of the T. Take the Orange Line towards Forest Hills, six stops to Ruggles. Walk 0.1 mile to Northeastern University International Village, 1175 Tremont Street, Boston.

The general check-in time on July 17th is 11:00am-4:00pm at the check-in desk in the International Village. If you arrive before or after that time, there will be someone in the office across from the check-in table to check you in.

At check-in, you will get your room key and the code you need to get into your room. The Conference Assistant (CA) will also explain to you how to access your room and how to go through the proctor stations on the main level. A breakfast plan will be added to your card.

Directions from NEU Dorm to MIT, 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge

  1. From International Village, walk 0.1 mile to the Ruggles T Station Orange Line.
  2. If you did not take the T from the airport yesterday. You will need to purchase a Charlie Ticket for $5.00, which will allow you to use the train and local bus to get to MIT. You will receive a weekly Charlie Ticket Pass when you sign-in on July 18th.
  3. Take the Orange Line train towards Oak Grove. 1 stop to Massachusetts Avenue. Get off and go up to the street level.
  4. Take the Number 1 Bus towards Harvard. Your Charlie Ticket should work. If you do not have one, the bus fare is $2.00.
