Glay (J-Rock)

Formed in 1988, Glay has gained great success in Japan with their catchy mix of pop and rock. Their name is pronounced "gurei" which is the Japanese for the color gray. The concept of being gray (not black nor white but something in between) and using a misspelling as their name represents their embracement of the attitude of being "different." By 2001, they had already released six albums, ninteen singles, and had their faces painted on the side of one Japanese airline's Jumbo Jet.
