Project Abstract:

The aim of this project is to optimize resource utilization through load balancing in warehouse. A resource allocation system will be set up to achieve the following three objectives. First, the project aims to enable visibility on daily transactions volume. Second, the project aims to enable daily resources planning and allocation through volume balancing. Last but not least, the project aims to determine the best working hours as per orders load trend. Accord Logistics is a third party logistics (3PL) provider with a large number of clients in Asia Pacific. Currently, there is no workload balancing system in Accord. In order to maximize all resource utilization and cost reduction in warehouse operation, the team needs to develop a resource allocation system that interface with the current warehouse management system (WMS). The daily workload will be quantified and scheduled, and corresponding resource required will be allocated according to proposed optimized algorithms.
