TRVS Travel Grants
The US Department of Energy and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research are funding travel grants to TRVS for junior scientists that are presenting an oral or poster presentation. The organizers will award 10 grants of $400 to graduate students or postdocs and 5 grants of $500 to junior faculty. Requests for support can be mailed to trvs-www@mit.edu stating whether they are receiving other support for travel to TRVS. Graduate students or postdocs should ask their advisors to send a brief recommendation by e-mail. Awards will be selected prior to the conference and given as reimbursement for travel expenses. |

The Fourteenth International Conference on Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy will be held May 9-14, 2009 at The Inn and Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, New Hampshire. The conference facilities are on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire. The conference will open with the reception on May 9, 2009 and will close with lunch on May 14, 2009. The conference opening reception, Saturday, May 9, 2009, is being sponsored by Infrared Systems Development and Infrared Associates. A cruise of Lake Winnipesaukee and conference banquet aboard the M/S Mount Washington is planned for Wednesday, May 13, 2009. TRVS has traditionally been a forum for presenting the latest developments in spectroscopic research utilizing vibrational spectroscopies. The conference features science that is at the heart of the physical sciences, including chemistry, physics, biophysics, biology, and materials science. The topics to be featured at TRVS XIV include: · Dynamics of liquids, solids, interfaces, and nanostructured materials · TRVS in molecular biophysics and photobiology · Chemical, vibrational, and hydrogen bonding dynamics · Proton and electron transfer studies for energy conversion and storage · Multidimensional vibrational spectroscopy: IR, Raman, and THz · Single molecule vibrational spectroscopy · Theoretical and computational spectroscopy |
Posters
The poster boards for each presentation have dimensions of 4 ft. H x 8 ft. W (1.2 m H x 2.4 m W). |
