Elitism in math discussion

CoMM hosts discussions throughout the semester for undergraduates to share their experiences. Join us to discuss how to combat elitism within the math department.

New Math Major Mixer

Welcome to the math department! We are so excited for you all to join us and want to give you a chance to learn more about the math department and get to know each other! At this event, math clubs will be present to tell new majors what they're all about, and you'll have a chance to get to know other 24s who just declared. Additionally, we will reimbursing $15 meals for the first 30 people who sign up to come. We will also be raffling gift cards at the event for those who stay the whole time, so be sure to come!

Thinking about being a math major, but not sure you'd fit in at the MIT math department? Come find out what the life of a math major is really like. We'll answer any questions you may have about being an undergrad in the MIT math department. The first 45 minutes will be a moderated panel with current MIT math majors, and in the second half you'll be able to socialize and ask more questions to panelists in breakout rooms!
