The MIT Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP) announced the pilot of a new program within SEED Academy called the Confronting Obstacles and Realizing Excellence (CORE) program in the summer of 2008. The CORE Program is a two-week program focused on increasing the quantitative reasoning skills of rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders from public high schools in Boston and Cambridge.

Students learn a great deal about themselves as a participant in this new program.  They will work with an amazing instructional team to help their confidence in their math skills and better prepare them for a new school term.

As a participant in CORE, students will have the opportunity to learn at MIT, one of the leading science and technology institutions in the world. Students who successfully complete this program are also encouraged, and more prepared, to apply to SEED Academy.
