     DSpace

Our Team

The DSpace Project Team is creating DSpace. Through a combined approach of integrating existing components and solutions, and creating new solutions where nothing appropriate yet exists, the DSpace team is prototyping the future of academic knowledge capture and exchange, today.

The DSpace Steering Committee provides oversight of the overall project. The steering comittee represents the two major sponsoring organizations (HP and MIT Libraries), as well as DSpace customers.

The purpose of the steering committee is to assist the project in acheiving its objectives: by providing a conduit for communications to and from the sponsors, by acting as agents of change within affiliated organizations, by identifying and removing barriers to success, and by offering input regarding priorities and tradeoffs.

The DSpace Advisory Board

Members of the DSpace Advisory Board provide guidance from the perspective of MIT users of DSpace, both as contributors of content and as end-users of the system. They also provide liaison between DSpace and the different communities of MIT.

Sponsors provide space, funding, staffing, equipment, and other resources which make the effort possible.
