2.S972 Spring 2022
Virtualizing the Human Body
Fridays, 2:000pm to 4:00pm
Instructor: Ken Zolot, with visiting co-instructors
In this special first-of-its-kind elective, students will explore the boundaries of virtual reality and the human body. Topics will include brain-computer integration with virtual reality, haptic technologies, interfaces for smell, taste, and other senses. We’ll focus on accessibility for various bodies. Guest lecturers will be experts in both academia and industry. Students will learn how to make virtual reality experiences in the game engine Unity, and the semester will culminate with a demo of a new product/service which we’ll present to an audience of distinguished guests/investors/partners. Students will get access to state-of-the-art equipment and guidance from visiting expert mentors.
