Messages from the MIT community

Dear MIT community

The Japanese Association of MIT (JAM) collected messages and donations at Lobby 10 and Stata Center from Monday, Mar. 14 through Friday, Mar. 18. Thanks to your kind support, we have raised $30,824.74 and collected countless messages from more than 2,052 people throughout the entire MIT community.

The money will be donated to the Red Cross to help those who suffer from this large earthquake. The final status of the donation drive and collected messages are updated here, so please visit often and also please keep paying attention to how Japan will get over this plight.

Our activity has been introduced by newspapers and articles. We have also heard from people in Japan saying they were encouraged by these messages.

Again, we truly appreciate your words to us and the people in Japan. We never forget your kindness.
