Projects for, about and by design

Experiential learning is central to my teaching philosophy. I therefore feel lucky to have had opportunities to practice this type of teaching in a variety of settings.

I was a co-instructor for the D-Lab: Design class in 2011. A project-based design course, the class was focused on developing a good understanding of the user and making design decisions based on this user-centric framework.

I was also a lab Instructor for the toy product design class 2.00b. As an instructor for Team Chartreuse, I was excited by their final product Legends of the Sword. I particularly liked the blending of fantasy/dress up play, electronics and physical play.

I also was lucky enough to be a high school mathematics teacher for two years at the Boston Latin School, an exam school here in Boston, MA. I taught every grade from 8-12, and courses ranging from Algebra through Statistics.
