* in a microclimate where adjacent buildings support dense plant growth, metal walkway above surface through stand of sumac trees
* planted with natives and new species that provide for constant bloom and seasonal color variation
* concrete decking is removed where line transitions to rail yards - exposes steel framework of structure
* northern spur - overlook offers view of 'horticultural preserve' designed to recall self-sown landscape 'view of untouched landscape of robust native grasses and perennials' * cuts in structure provide access stairs
* public art space where high line cuts through Chelsea Market
* sundeck offers views of the Hudson River
