Abstract:
During the 1990s, MIT participated in an international experiment on CO2 ocean sequestration. The lead countries were Japan, Norway, and the US. We do not list any project publications here, but the de Figueiredo publications do review the overall project and the lessons it taught about public perception. The other publications listed address some important generic issues related to CO2 ocean sequestration. Since 2003, the MIT Carbon Capture & Sequestration Technologies Program has not engaged in any research into CO2 ocean sequestration.
