Shenhua and Dow would likely form a 50:50 joint-venture company to build and operate the project which is planned to produce a large number of different chemicals. This project is still in the early stages of development. The project application report was submitted to the Chinese government towards the end of 2010 and the project is currently running pre-feasibility studies.
Yulin city lies in an area with large scale coal and natural gas deposits and it is thought that this project would bring economic benefits and energy production to this area.
