Mission

The MIT Sloan BioInnovations conference has established itself as an important forum for leaders in industry, academia, and policy to discuss current issues and future innovations in the dynamic area of healthcare, from healthcare in emerging markets to new drug technologies.

Participants will hear from industry leaders in keynote addresses and panel discussions, will view new technological and business innovations from the many biomedical institutes and startups around Boston through poster presentations, and will have the opportunity to network with professionals and students from a variety of disciplines.

This year, the BioInnovations conference focuses on the trend of precision medicine in the healthcare industry. Innovations in genomics technology have made the genetic information of individuals very accessible, and that information is being used in a growing array of diagnostic and treatment-tuning capacities. We will explore the business opportunities in tracking and identifying particular genetic factors as well as the role of genetic information in the development of new therapies. We will also explore how this trend impacts and is impacted by the regulatory environment and reimbursement environment in healthcare in the US.

We hope you will join us on what promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking day.
