Accompanist Biography: Leona Cheung

Leona Cheung is a native of Hong Kong. She holds a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano from New England Conservatory, where she studies with Cameron Stowe and Jonathan Feldman.

She has performed extensively in festivals including Songfest in Los Angeles, CoOPERAtive program at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, Toronto summer music festival and SingFest in Hong Kong. In 2015, a choral music CD recording with Cantoria Hong Kong entitled "Half Moon Rising" was presented by the Edition Peters.

She was honoured to work with conductors Helmuth Rilling, William Weinert, Rolf Beck, Wolfgang Katschner, Richard Kaufman and Ko Matsushita in chorus rehearsals and conducting masterclasses. She has played in the masterclasses with Craig Rutenberg, Martin Katz, Alan Smith, Warren Jones, Kaya Iwama, John Moriarty, Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, and composers Libby Larsen and Jake Heggie.

Leona is currently a collaborative pianist in the Boston area. She also accompanies the Coro Dante, the Italian repertoire chorus founded and directed by our Music Director, Kevin Galiič.
