Cailin sends a letter. [Copy that letter into the logs here]
Jean pulls out of and stabs all of his bodies that remember having walked the Spiral, plus any with spells that aren't from Ilk, due the possibility of contamination. Most of the bodies explode as their racks unrack; two actually manage to dodge and start to run. Jean concentrates on killing them, and asks Gil, Calla, and Janus for suggestions. He manages to hunt both of them down. One of them starts to say, "I curse you, Jean" before he dies, and the other starts to say, "I curse you, Ilk".
Jean lines up a bunch of bodies in Chaos and signals to Neville, who comes over to chat. Jean tells Neville that the former head of the Mages' Guild is believed to be manipulating people through the Spiral, and points out that one third of him was dumped on the Primal Pattern, so it might be contaminated as well. Jean suggests that the mage who decontaminated the moon ...
Shiryu tells Ilk that he'll keep an eye out for contamination, but doesn't think that any changes would last.
Neville considers walking the Primal Pattern and then trumping the Pattern itself, to check for presences. Princess Chandra offers assistance, and Neville accepts an offer of Cailin and Calla, for a mage and a sorcerer.
Neville goes to Amber and draws trump sketchs of Osric and the Pattern.
Cailin hears the flapping of a bird at the same time as he receives a trump call. The trump call is from his grandmother. She tells him that he might be called upon to rescue the Pattern some time soon. They chat.
A few hearbeats later, the bird lands near Cailin, looks around, and expires. He examines the bird. It appears that the demons inside of it who were working the mechanisms have melted.
Cailin receives another trump call. It's Neville, who asks for an assist with the Pattern. Cailin tells Neville that he's not the best person for the job -- he's been compromised, and he should try Amaranth. Neville notices something coming over the contact towards him, and drops the contact. It was someone unfamiliar with trump trying to use the link to attack his mind. Cailin feels the connection snap back like a giant rubber band.
Neville draws a quick trump sketch of Princess Chandra. There is nothing trumpish about it at all.
Neville trumps Osric, and asks him to tell Princess Chandra that Cailin may be more compromized than he had realized -- something just tried to eat his brain over the contact. Osric tells Princess Chandra.
Cailin is getting another trump call. It's the archivist. "Your package has been delivered successfully." They chat indirectly. The archivist implies indirectly that Cailin may be compromised.
Cailin asks Jean to attack House Moonlight. Jean discusses the complexity of the situation. Janus determines that attacking House Moonlight would be a bad idea -- Zorro is there. The "Don't get involved" plan is determined to be a good thing. A Jean saucer thinks about it very hard, and Janus kills that saucer.
Cailin yetis and runs towards the Serpent and the Unicorn.
Princess Chandra insists that Cailin drink from a glass that she hands him, filled from her private flask. He drinks. The half of his brain that he doesn't normally live in is getting very drunk.
Cailin goes to sleep after telling someone to kill the drunk part of his mind if it moves. He wakes up 10 minutes later with one mind, and a bottle with a smokey liquid in it.
Cailin delivers the bottle to himself and shows it to Princess Chandra.
Princess Chandra suggests that the bottle be placed on Jean's mantlepiece next to the Pattern hammer. Cailin gives the bottle to Jean, who places it appropriately. The smoke hides on the side away from the hammer.
Cailin trumps his House second, at Princess Chandra's instigation. He's currently reading. Princess Chandra joins the trump contact. Cailin eventually goes through, eyes closed, and leaves a place filled with paper to the front hall, where he shares a drink with his House second.
Laetatio is trumped out from under the spam on his bed and handed a drink. He drinks, and topples over backwards.
Cailin does down to Zorro and suggests a toast. After some work, Cailin gets Zorro to take a drink. Zorro falls over.
Cailin goes into a room with the Amberites and finds Random, who claims to be Cailin's grandfather, from another reality. He states that Zorro brought him here.
Cailin chats with his grandfather, who claims that this is all just a drug trip.
Random wakes up, joins the group, and is convinced that he is on a trip -- he's seeing himself.
People get trashed.
Cailin heads out. He greets Ferethyn and the dragon. Ferethyn says that he's beginning to see the blobs. Ferethyn tells Cailin to warn Jean to stay away from the blobs -- they operate on both a physical and a mental level, so a bite might be taken out of all of Jean.
Cailin heads on over, back towards the Apocalypse.
Cailin warns Jean. Jean worries about evacuating.
