At Cailin's Engagement Party

Gerard is in the corner, talking with the Randoms. The Randoms have acquired the trick of alternating words as they talk. People are unclear if they are real, or just a hallucination.

Ilk warns Brandt that Trumps are illegal in Chaos. He explains briefly, and hides Brandt's easel in Amber.

Benedict is being swarmed by the Cobaltians. Flora's has placed her tapestry, rolled up, leaning against the wall behind him. Benedict looks nervous.

• Holtiharnia will not send anyone because they don't like Cailin

• Yigrin sends their House Second (Tiana)
• Helgram is represented by Neville
• Xartys sends a ranked member of the House
• Darbin sends a whole party, that is well armed
• Ganda was not found, the invitation was left at their front door
• Corona sends two people, the House Second and her partner. Neither appear humanoid at all. Both only answer to "Corona"
• Trantor sends their house head
• A barrel of drink was sent by House Cara. According to Beldin, they would have sent snacks, but they were having problems finding them.
• Felicity sends its regrets, and claims to be currently resolving a situation with Ganda.
• Swaville is well represented by Jean
• ... Beldin was delaying delivering Pharaban's invitation.
• Chanicut sends their house head
• Sawall is in hiding

Cailin argues at Beldin a bit; Beldin calls out to the room asking for someone to deliver a message to Pharaban. Kintani takes the note and delivers it to a resigned-looking guy chained to a desk. A few minutes later, a squished-looking thing enters the room and approaches Cailin. It spits out a note. The note is eventually extracted from the ooze, and proves to be a polite decline from Pharaban.

Cailin talks with some members of his wedding party.

Darkstar tells Cailin that Brandt is leaking Pattern-based Trump energy, and may not realize it. Cailin goes over to chat. Brandt gives Cailin and Natasha trump decks as wedding presents. King Neville goes to check, and is forcibly trumped out when he rests an arm over Brandt's shoulders. As he trumps out, he cries, "Get it fixed!" Brandt agrees to talk with Darkstar.

Ilk looks around for Neville. About five minutes later, Neville reappears in Amber and asks for a lift back to the party.

A few minutes after Darkstar leaves the party with Brandt, Rainbow walks in through the front door of the party in his traditional, Chandra-oid form. He walks right up to Cailin and Natasha, gives them each a present, then wanders around mingling. He approaches Princess Chandra, talks with her briefly, bows to her as supplicant to answerer of favor, returns to Cailin, makes excuses for his brief appearance, gives Flora a toe-curling kiss, and walks out the front door. His departure is followed a few minutes later by Brandt and Darkstar walking back into the party.

Brandt asks Cailin for tenative permission to consider becoming a House member so that he could learn from Darkstar.

One of the kids approaches Kintani and asks him to keep a golden human tooth for him.
