notebook with experiments

Discovery Kit

This takes the original Discovery Notebook concept and adds a few components to make it easier and to help encourage running scientific experiments. In this example, the notebook provides some background information on magnetism, the kit provides a battery pack and wire, but the user is encouraged to construct their own electromagnet out of household materials. Opened-ended prompts in the book make suggestions about experimenting with the number of windings, as well as what materials work as a core. Each prompt section of the book also has a space to make sketches, diagrams, or write in observations about the experiments.
