Inventor’s Logbook:
This concept for the Inventor’s logbook is meant to mimic the form of the scientific logbook used by countless MIT students in their laboratories. The notebook is hardbound and has a similar name plate on the cover. The pages are pre-numbered and there is a space for the date and for the supervisor’s (ie: parent’s) initials. This is intended to spur interaction between the parent and the child around the child’s ideas and provide reinforcement for the child’s creativity. The design prompts are all phrased in the manner “Draw the _______ of the future,” with the blank being filled in with different objects. This concept evokes the draw the robot of the future exhibit at the museum.
